Newton Kart Klub – Newton Cup Series
This year NKK
will be doing payout to the Jr Classes instead of unwanted
trophies. Exceptions will be Putt-Putt and Kid Karts.
I
have worked out a pay scale for both adult and junior classes.
The nightly payouts are half of what they would normally be.
However, I also have set up a year-end series fund per class. It
is based on a percentage of entry fees after payout with the
percentage being higher the more karts that enter each night. It
is listed on the pay schedule as to what will be set aside
determined by the kart count for each class. More karts = More
set aside = Bigger Purse.
I would like some feed back
after you look over everything and see how it will be paid out.
I think this will put a new twist on racing at Newton and give
every one something to strive towards all season. It is fully
intended for the racer dedicated to racing a full schedule, but
still allows for the driver who occasionally races @ NKK. I
believe everyone chasing the coveted Duffy again this year can
use this “Cup Chase” to their advantage since we will once again
be hosting the Grand Nationals.
Also, none of the
schedule overlaps with the IKF Punch races or Iowa Speedway
schedules and there are none scheduled for a holiday weekend.
This should allow for everyone to participate with a winning
potential.
As for money nights for each class, this may
make them obsolete, unless sponsors are brought in to make more
money available for the nightly payout in a given class. I am
working on this and will stay on it throughout the season. I
have listed the payout scale for these races, but they do not
reflect any sponsorship money. This would vary with the
sponsored amounts.

Congratulations to Doug Walker of Center Point, IA, on winning
the Extreme Scooter 4-Wheeler raffled by the Newton Kart Klub.
Doug purchased the winning ticket while attending the IKF
2-Cycle Grand Nationals to cheer on his nephew, Klein Walker.
Doug wrote;
“Thanks again for the 4 wheeler. My oldest
son was full of smiles when he saw that on Monday night when I
got home. I went to Nationals to help and cheer on my nephew,
Klein Walker. I hope to be there for the Memorial race and maybe
I will see you there. My oldest child is 6 years old. Thank
you, Doug”
Thank you to Extreme Scooter for donating
the 4-wheeler. A Big Thanks to Brad Stevens for the awesome
graphics. Thanks to all participants who made the raffle a
success and thanks to all Team Newton members for all the
efforts throughout the season.
