The kid kart class
is an introductory, fun class for 4-7 year olds.
IT IS NOT A
COMPETITION CLASS, IT IS A LEARNING CLASS
All competitors receive the same award after the races; there is no
1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.
PARENTAL ATTITUDE
IS IMPORTANT – Let’s remember these kids are learning and
let’s keep it fun
for everyone

Ages 4 – 7
2.
All engines absolutely stock (as they were shipped
from the factory)
3.
Restrictors required (7mm as supplied with engine)
4.
Gas or gasohol only (provided by participant)
5.
Kid kart chassis only – wheelbase 29” minimum and
31-1/2” maximum
6.
219 chain, 10 tooth driver, 89 tooth axle sprocket
only
7.
Clutch must be stock (as manufactured)
8.
Tires – front size 4.50-5 or 6 – rear maximum
5.50-5 or 6 Any
Burris – 34” rear tire circumference max
9.
Ignition key must be stock and in place
10.
Safety equipment same as other classes – Please use
proper fitting equipment
11.
All Track rules apply
12.
No taping of shroud allowed
13.
No signaling of any kind to driver while racing
14.
All karts will weight at scales after each race,
engines must be shut off before pulling on scales
15.
No tachs or temp gauges
16.
Parents and drivers must follow all rules or will not
be allowed to race

COMPETITION CLASS AND SAFETY IS OUR MAIN CONCERN
Newton kart klub reserves the right to change restrictor plate sizes,
gearing or add a throttle stop at any time to slow individual karts
down and keep competitors speed as close as possible
Each competitor
will be asked to fill out a drivers profile sheet (available at sign
up window).
This will give the
announcer as much info as possible about each child
Penalty for
cheating is $200.00 for first offense - 2nd offense gone
for balance of year
All races will
start standing still at flag stand
NKK reserves the
right to inspect any competitor’s equipment at any time
Tire prepping or
doping is not allowed in kid kart classes

AMENDMENT TO KID KART RULES FOR 2008
The kid kart
class this year will be slowed down, restrictors will be run at all
times – NO EXCEPTIONS – DON’T ASK !! They need to be kept slow
for safety and to give the kids a chance to learn without getting hurt ..
THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION CLASS , IT IS A LEARNING CLASS !!
PARENTS NEED TO UNDERSTAND THIS !!
NKK Officials will be timing karts and
any kid kart that is faster than the designated lap time will be
pulled off the track immediately and a complete tech will be done ..
anyone refusing
tech or found illegal will be assessed a $200 fine which must be
paid before being allowed to race again.
Anyone not sure of the legality of their
equipment may install a throttle stop (available at track) To slow
the kart down .. AS LONG AS YOU STAY ABOVE POSTED LAP TIME THERE
WILL BE NO PROBLEM .. This lap time will be determined after
practice day .
Any adult yelling or cussing at another
person’s child will be banned for remainder of season !!
Remember these young children are
learning about sportsmanship as well as racing .. Lets work together
to keep this class fun and safe for all .
